High powered hybrid
from Porsche
PORSCHE is set to introduce a new hybrid version of its Panamera luxury grand tourer following the success of its recently introduced Cayenne hybrid 4x4
Main power will be provided by a supercharged three-litre V6 engine developing 333 bhp supported by a 47 bhp electric motor.
Both power units are capable of powering the Panamera S Hybrid either alone or in combination.
The electric motor also operates as a generator and a starter.
Used in everyday circumstances, Porsche claims the Panamera hybrid will return a combined fuel consumption of just over 30 mpg.
The Panamera will hit 62mph in just 6.0 seconds and on to a top speed of 168 mph.
In electric only mode the Panamera will travel approximately 1.25 miles at a maximum speed of 53 mph.
The Panamera S Hybrid goes on sale in the UK in June, priced from £86,146.
