FAST though the Jaguar XKR-S was when I tried it recently I've just driven something that gave me the fastest 0-60 time I've ever achieved.
Nissan's GT-R Track Pack is mind blowing and heart stopping in its array of astonishing abilities. And on the company's test track in the North East it catapulted me to 60 in just 3.8 seconds.
Now the company's figures claim 2.8 but I was really trying, using the car's F1-style launch control, so I don't know how they came to their figure. Awesome is the only word for this car.
Not only is it immensely quick but it also has the most amazing, superglue grip, ultra-quick handling and a split-second changing, twin clutch auto gearbox.
It reels in the horizon so fast I never had time to look at the speedo to see what top speed I made.
And yet when it's burbling along at low speed, it's like a lazy old dog lying in the sun and even your 80-year-old granny could drive it...
Except that she would be frightened to death by the huge array of dials and switches - a 747 cockpit has nothing on this baby.
