SsangYong Korando SE

SPECIALIST 4x4 and SUV producer SsangYong aims to attract a wealth of new custom with what is the UK's lowest priced 2.0-litre diesel crossover model.

The Korando SE is hitting the streets at £14,995 and boasts a raft of standard kit, a two-tonne towing capability and five-year warranty.

Styled by the renowned Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design, this latest addition to the Korando line-up is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine producing 150bhp with CO2 emissions of 147g/km.

And its equipment includes electronic stability programme with Hill Start Assist, active rollover protection plus ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution.

It also comes with upmarket touches like roof rails, tinted glass and rear parking sensors, while inside there are electric windows, a leather covered steering wheel and gear shift, air-con, cruise control and a six-speaker sound system with iPod connection and Bluetooth.

SsangYong, the longest established Korean vehicle manufacturer and now boasting 52 UK dealers, is also offering a PCP scheme from £199 a month.

The brand's marketing chief Steve Gray said: "In the current economy, customers tell us they want an affordable car, a competitive purchase plan and the peace of mind of a long and ‘quibble free' warranty - that's exactly what the new Korando delivers."

"SsangYong has an enviable reputation for building extremely well engineered vehicles, and this new Korando draws on that pedigree. It's an honest, reliable and highly capable car."
