Audi RS7 Sportback

AUDI has given its high performance RS7 Sportback model a facelift - with the emphasis on sports styling revisions and the latest infotainment updates.

The German brand's speed machine uses the same 560PS 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 powerplant as before, capable of delivering 0-62mph acceleration of 3.9 seconds and a governed top speed of 155mph.

But the arrival of improved Cylinder on Demand technology makes for an improved fuel return of a combined 29.7mpg.

And while that figure represents a three per cent improvement in consumption, the outgoing model was only slightly thirstier at 28.8mpg. As for emissions the RS7 now emits a lower 221g/km of CO2

New design details add some smart touches in the shape of a single frame grille with the black honeycomb typical of RS models, but with the corners now sharper and more distinctive.

Three optional packages - matt aluminium, gloss black and carbon - add to the car's appeal.

Subtle modifications have also been made to the bumper, with its distinctive air inlets while the headlights now feature LED technology as standard.

The tail lights also have a new interior design while fresh colours include Floret silver metallic, Glacier white metallic, Mythos black metallic and Sepang blue pearl effect.

Inside there have been changes to the air outlet controls of the vent nozzles, the shift paddles behind the steering wheel and the quattro emblem on the instrument panel.

RS adaptive air suspension is fitted as standard, together with adaptive damping, and is controlled via the Audi drive select driving dynamics system.

Audi is also offering the tauter RS sport suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control as an alternative.
