MERCEDES mean machine the S-Class Coupe is set to hit UK streets in September with a price tag of £96,565.

That's for the entry level model while Benz fans fancying the eight-cylinder S 63 AMG Coupe will have to shell out £125,595 for a car that generates a whopping 585bhp and 900 Nm of torque.

And if that's not sufficient then the S 65 AMG Coupe - costing a princely £183,065 - produces 630bhp and develops 1,000 Nm of torque.

One further engine, the S 500 Coupe AMG Line, will follow early next year.

Mercedes says Active Parking Assist with reversing camera, an expansive panoramic roof, ultra-sharp TFT 12.3-inch display, the Magic Vision Control system, COMAND Online and a choice of nine metallic paint options will come as standard across the range.

That's in addition to a Seat Comfort Package, Magic Body Control and Burmester surround sound system with 13 high-performance speakers.

Those opting for the S 65 AMG Coupe will also get a Head-up display, TV tuner, 360 camera and Night View Assist - capable of detecting hazards on the road ahead via an infrared camera.

Extra cost packages include the Premium Package which adds 20-inch alloy wheels, illuminated door sills, the seat comfort pack, keyless-go, Burmester sound, heated or cooling seats, a 360 camera and Air Balance - a system through which air is passed to remove pollutants and fragranced with a choice of perfumes - for £4,995.

The AMG Exterior Carbon-fibre Package (£5,000) adds carbon-fibre elements to the outside of the car while the AMG Night Package (£765) offers the AMG sports exhaust system with two black chrome finished twin tailpipes and high-gloss black highlights.

Further options include the panoramic roof with magic sky control at £4,030, refrigerated compartment in the rear for £1,130, and brake callipers painted in red for £620.

And the premium brand promises that the new S-Class Coupe will be the quietest series-production car of all in terms of wind noise.
