CITROEN is continuing its relationship with surf brand Rip Curl with a special edition of its SpaceTourer large MPV.

Fitted with the Grip Control traction system, the special models are powered either by the French car maker's new 1.5-litre diesel engine which develops 120bhp or the 2.0-litre BlueHDi engine with 150bhp on tap.

Both are six speed manuals and cost from £34,700 for the 1.5 or £36,180 for the 2.0-litre.

The Rip Curl models are based on Feel trim and sit on the 4.95-metre body with five seats as standard and come with 17-inch alloys, dark tinted rear windows and black door mirrors.

Inside, the SpaceTourer Rip Curl has additional brightwork around the dash and trim panels and comes with special floor mats with coloured stitching and Rip Curl logos while it also comes with a seven-inch touchscreen sat nav and a colour head up display for the driver.

The Grip Control system has settings for sand, mud and snow and also allows for the vehicle's stability system to be switched off enhancing performance in poor conditions on and off the road.

Like the C4 Cactus Rip Curl the new SpaceTourer is targeting action families and being based on a van there's plenty of luggage space available in five seat format with a split opening tailgate and two sliding side doors.
