PEUGEOT'S electrification programme has taken another step forward with the announcement that deliveries of its new range of plug-in hybrid models will start in January.

And a £500 deposit is all it will take to reserve and be among the first to drive away in one of the French maker's four new plug-in hybrid models - the 3008 SUV Hybrid, 3008 SUV GT Hybrid4, 508 and 508 SW Hybrids. Potential customers can make reservations online with a £500 refundable deposit.

The all-new 508 Hybrid and 508 SW Hybrid - priced from £34,930 and £36,530 respectively - will offer combined fuel efficiency of up to 235mpg and CO emissions as low as 31g/km under the latest WLTP tests, with both the saloon and SW estate capable of up to 39 miles of fully-electric driving.

Priced at £46,735, the new four-wheel drive 3008 SUV GT Hybrid4 flagship model comes with a 300hp plug-in drivetrain and is capable of ticking off the 0-60mph sprint in under 5.9 seconds while achieve ultra-low emissions of 28g/km and up to 40 miles of fully-electric range under WLTP tests.

While the GT Hybrid4 is powered by a 200hp 1.6-litre petrol engine and electric motors on the front and rear axles, the £36,585 two wheel drive 3008 Hybrid and both 508 hybrids come with a 180hp 1.6-litre petrol engine that works alongside a single electric motor on the front axle. All four models can be fully charged in under two hours using a standard 7kW wallbox.

The Hybrid4 is only available in GT trim with Nappa Mistral full grain leather interior trim and the newest safety technologies, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Lane Positioning Assist. The 3008 and 508 hybrids are offered in Allure, GT Line and GT trim.

Peugeot says it will be launching a full suite of services to assist customers in the transition to electrified motoring, including e-Remote Control - a feature within the MyPeugeot app that enables users to remotely control functions such as programming a charging session when the car is plugged in.
