MASERATI pays tribute to a special edition of one of its models from 1986 with a new limited run of 100 cars with the same name and priced from £78,900.

The Royale versions of Maserati's Quattroporte, Ghibli and Levante models are available with engines ranging from a 275hp 3.0 litre diesel to a 430hp petrol with the same capacity.

They reference the previous Royale version of the four-door Quattroporte, of which only 51 were built.

The new Royale special series is available in two unique blue and green colours:Blu RoyaleandVerde Royale. To complete the exterior look, the Levante Royale features special 21ins alloy wheels, all bespoke for the series, and all with silver brake calipers.

The Royale interiors are finished in a woven leather textile made exclusively for Maserati vehicle interiors and fashioned using thin strips of Nappa leather to create, says the company, "an ultra-luxurious fabric that is lightweight, soft and durable".

The cars' interiors will carry a distinctive "One of 100" plate and also features a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, electric sunroof and privacy glass. Other standard equipment includes cold weather, premium and driving assistance plus packages.

First deliveries are scheduled for March and orders can be placed now. Prices for the Royale Special Series start at £78,900 for the Ghibli, £85,300 for the Levante and £103,150 for the Quattroporte.
