IT'S makeover time for the Citroen C3 as the French car maker's popular hatchback gets styling changes and interior upgrades to mark the current model's fourth anniversary.

On the road in August, the new C3 line up will be priced from £16,280 for an 83ps version in Feel trim and top out at £21,270 for a 110ps high specification Flair Plus model with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Out goes the previous entry-level Touch specification and the new C3 line up comprises just nine models with only one diesel offering - a 100ps BlueHDi variant priced from £19,730.

The new C3 has a revised front featuring Citroen's new-look design while the car's characteristic Airbump protective side panels get subtle changes with a coloured insert panel to reflect the chosen paint finish.

All models now have LED headlights and are fully smartphone compatible with a seven-inch touchscreen.

Inside, Citroen is using new materials in the trim with top grade Flair Plus versions coming with the brand's Techwood finish with soft-touch materials and a light-wood appearance.

As well as the 83ps PureTech engine the C3 will also be available with a 110ps version of the three-cylinder unit with either manual or automatic transmissions.

Emissions range from 117 to 139g/km and from a company car tax perspective all engines meet the latest emission standards which avoid the four per cent diesel surcharge.
