AN upgraded version of the Cupra Ateca is on the way later this year with a host of spec upgrades designed to make it even more driver focussed.
The Ateca was the first vehicle to be launched as a standalone model under Spanish maker SEAT's sporting Cupra sub-brand back in 2018, designed to appeal to drivers who want more get up and go than is provided by your average compact SUV.
And with a 0-60mph time of less than 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 153mph provided by its 296bhp, two-litre turbo engine, the four wheel drive Cupra Ateca delivers in spades.
Now, a range of new additions and improvements have been made to enhance the sporting model's appeal including Alcantara sport seats, new 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive chassis control suspension, an enhanced steering system and quad exhaust pipes.
The exterior styling has been updated with a new bumper design as well as new full LED headlights. The side mouldings, roof rails and door mirrors are all finished in a glossy dark aluminium while the door mirrors house puddle lamps that shine the CUPRA logo on the floor when the doors are opened.
The cabin features a 10-inch digital driver binnacle and a new 9.2-inch central touchscreen which includes online navigation and natural voice control as well as wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and SEAT Connect technology.
There's a range of new driver and safety assistance systems including selectable driver profiles - Normal, Sport, Cupra, and Individual - which adjust the vehicle's ride and handling depending on the conditions and the driver's requirements.
