about electric MPVs

CITROEN and Peugeot have announced more details about their electric people movers the first of which should be on the road before the year is out.

The Citroen e-SpaceTourer and the Peugeot e-Traveller both have ranges of up to 143 miles and can be charged up to 80 per cent battery capacity in 30 minutes from a fast charger.

The e-SpaceTourer will be arriving first and deliveries are expected from November while the Peugeot is due on stream next year.

Prices for the e-SpaceTourer start from £45,600 after the Government grant for low emission vehicles and although Peugeot still has to confirm prices for the e-Traveller they are expected to be similar.

The e-SpaceTourer can be configured as a nine-seater in entry-level Business trim while a Feel version aimed more at families will be priced from £46,250.

Feel versions come as standard with a child observation mirror, rail-mounted rear seats for optimum modularity, a load restraint net in the boot and automatic dual-zone climate control with six ceiling mounted air vents.

The Business trim is aimed at professional users and come with a hardwearing TPO floor for improved durability.

Both models will take up to seven hours 30 minutes for a full charge from a 7.4kW domestic Wallbox takes.
