A SPECIAL Sportivo trim is being introduced by Maserati on its Ghibli sports saloon and Levante SUV models.

Priced from £64,200 for the Ghibli Hybrid and £69,975 for the Levante, the cars are powered by V6 engines developing either 350 or 330hp.

Higher specification Sportivo X models are also being offered priced from £72,950 and £80,800 respectively.

The Levante special has 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof and black leather upholstery as standard while the Ghibli Sportivo includes aluminium paddle-shifters, 12-way power and heated front sport seats with driver seat memory, black piano high gloss wood interior trim and rear-view camera.

Sportivo X adds Maserati's Nerissimo pack with darkened exterior features such as black gloss front grille bars, dark exhaust tips, dark exterior finishing, black front and rear sport fascias with front inserts, front lower profile and rear diffuser in gloss black finish, and sport rear spoiler.

Full LED adaptive matrix headlights with anti-glare, 21-inch alloys with bold red brake callipers are also fitted.

Similar specification is available on the Ghibli which also comes with an active damping suspension system and the car maker's Driver Assistance Pack Plus - adding to the car's performance, handling and safety.
