CZECH car maker Skoda is expanding its new Octavia line up with the launch of SportLine models which are due for release later in the year.

With black exterior trim, sports seats and a three-spoke steering wheel the newcomer has a dynamic look.

It will be available in both hatch and estate body styles and will come with a range of powertrain options including plug-in and mild hybrid options.

A distinctive front spoiler, the frame of the Skoda grille, rear diffuser and the SKODA lettering on the tailgate all come in gloss black. The hatch also has a black rear spoiler.

Standard equipment for the Octavia SportLine includes 18-inch wheels while optional safety features include an occupant protection system with rollover function and safety assistance systems such ascollision avoidance assist and turn assist as well as a new central airbag between the frontseats.

The Octavia SportLine will be available with either frontâwheel or all-wheel drive and power outputs range from 115ps) to 204ps.

The1.5TSI model develops 150ps and can be ordered with an optional seven-speed DSG transmission and a mild-hybrid system, while the 2.0 TSI has190ps and comes with DSG and all-wheel drive as standard.

The plug-in hybrid model provides an output of 204ps, while the 2.0TDI can be ordered with 115ps 150 and 200ps engines.

The150ps diesel has DSG and all-wheel drive as options, while they are included as standard with the 200ps engine. Dynamic Chassis Control is available as an option and offers settings ranging from comfortable to sporting and continuously adjusts the damping characteristics of the car.

Inside, the SportLine includes afabric finish around the instrument panel as well as Piano Black decorative strips. The sports seats have integrated headrests and are fitted with breathable ThermoFlux upholstery.

Prices are still to be confirmed but are expected to start from around £27,000 with the plug-in model costing from more than £30,000.
