SPANISH performance brand Cupra is to give a glimpse of its take on an urban electric performance car when it reveals the UrbanRebel Concept at the IAA Munich International Motor Show in September.

Cupra, an offshoot of SEAT, says that the car gives an idea of the future design language of an urban electric vehicle which will be launched in 2025.

The company aims to prove that electrification and sportiness are a match and has already launched plug-in hybrid versions of the Formentor SUV and its first 100 per cent electric model, the el-Born.

The UrbanRebel Concept will be shown as a racing car first to reflect the brand's interest in motorsport.

Cupra has its corporate headquarters and a racing car workshop in Martorell near Barcelona in Spain.
