Cupra electrified SUV, 2022, front

CUPRA, the performance offshoot of SEAT, has announced it will have an electrified SUV on the road in 2024.

Details of the new model are sketchy at the moment, but the Spanish car maker has said the model will be around 4.5 metres long and it will be produced alongside the Audi Q3 Sportback at the Volkswagen Group factory in Gyor, Hungary and may be a successor to the Cupra Ateca.

The model will be available with a range of powertrains and as a mild-hybrid and a plug-in hybrid - the latter with the ability to travel up to 62 miles purely on electricity.

The company has released an image of the car under wraps but with the launch date still some two years away more details are be kept closely guarded at the moment.
