AN entry-level Style trim is being added to the all-electric Volkswagen ID.5 range with prices starting from £49,735.

That's almost £4,000 cheaper than the model in Tech Pro specification and comes with the same performance.

The ID.5 Style expands the ID.5 line-up to five models and it sits beneath the ID.5 Tech and ID.5 Max, while the ID.5 GTX Style slots in before the ID.5 GTX Max, as the entry-level model fitted with the GTX powertrain.

Style trim is available on all three ID.5 powertrain options and the new model costs from £51,210 in mid-grade Style Pro Performance specification and £55,570 at top grade GTX Style level.

As the entry-level model, the Style cars can be specified with a few options including a heat pump at £1,050, a three-pin mains charging cable for £190, a trailer Hitch at £890 and VW's Infotainment Package Plus for 1,350, which adds an augmented reality head-up display, as well as a Dynaudio digital sound package.

With a 77kWh battery pack the ID.5 Style develops 174ps and has a range of up to 316 miles with a 0 to 62mph acceleration time of 10.4 seconds and a maximum of 99mph.

The system on Style Pro versions develops 204ps reducing the acceleration time to 8.4 seconds while the GTX Style has a 299ps set up and all-wheel-drive which takes range down to 300 miles but decreases the acceleration time to 6.3 seconds with a maximum of 112mph.
