ALL-ELECTRIC versions of the new Peugeot 308 line up will be joining the range in 2023.

With a range of up to 248 miles, the new models will be available in both hatch and estate body styles.

They will sit alongside existing plug-in and combustion engine powered models making the 308 the first car to be produced by the Stellantis Group which features all three modes of propulsion.

Prices for the e-308 and e-308 SW are still to be confirmed but are likely to start from around the £34,000 mark.

From a rapid charger Peugeot says the cars can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in less than 25 minutes.

Three drive modes - eco, normal and sport - will be available as will a range of driving aids including adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, long-range blind spot monitoring and rear traffic alert, which warns of danger when reversing.

The new electric versions of the 308 will be offered in Allure and GT trim levels and are due to be on sale in the second half of 2023.
