Spanish performance brand Cupra has opened order books for the latest variants of the Leon Hatch and Estate.
In a first for the SEAT sub-brand, the latest Cupra Leon models come with the VW Group's two-litre TSI 190PS engine which the firm says blends affordability with performance and adds more choice for customers.
Prices for the 190PS engine start from £33,170 for the hatchback and £34,445 for the estate.
The 190PS engine, which is only available with a DSG-auto gearbox, delivers between an officially tested 39.8-41.5mpg on the combined cycle and boasts a top speed of 141mph for the hatchback while the estate is capable of 143mph. The hatchback is slightly quicker off the mark, however, achieving the benchmark 0-62mph time in 7.2 seconds compared with the estate's time of 7.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, there's also a new, more affordable entry-level 150PS engine option for the Cupra Leon Estate with prices starting at £30,875 for the six-speed manual or £32,985 for the DSG-auto.
With the 150PS engine, the Leon Estate accelerates from standstill to 62mph in 9.2 seconds with the manual gearbox while the DSG model is quicker with a 0-62mph time of 8.9 seconds. Top speed is 134mph.
