CITROEN is to release a limited run of its all-electric My Ami Buggy in 2023 with 1,000 models going on sale.

The vehicles will be on sale in the spring and Citroen says they will be similar to the first edition of the opened out version of the micro car of which all 50 units were sold in just 18 minutes.

The Ami has a range of 46 miles and a top speed of 28mph and is designed as a zero emission runabout over short distances.

Citroen says it sill be fitting some ‘surprise' features to the Buggy and more details will be revealed early in 2023.

The My Ami Buggy will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with deliveries expected to start in the summer.

Already some 30,000 versions of the tiny car have been sold across Europe and alongside the Buggy the Ami is also available in My Ami Colour specification as well as My Ami Pop, My Ami Tonic and the commercial My Ami Cargo.

Prices for the Ami range start from £7,695.
