MERCEDES-BENZ has been named brand of the year by consumer experts at Which? who rated the German car maker in its 2023 car survey.

Based on owner feedback, Mercedes-Benz beat all-comers to be crowned most reliable EV manufacturer.

Which? chief executive, Anabel Hoult, said:"The Which? Awards judging standards are incredibly high, so to be named as a winner is a huge achievement - something only given to the best of the best."

The judges also felt the brand deserved the top spot after receiving five stars for NCAP safety testing across its new model range.

Which? car expert, Daljinder Nagra, said: "Mercedes-Benz has wholeheartedly embraced electrification, with its burgeoning EQ range performing exceptionally well in our tests.

"This is in no small part down to its enviable dependability and fault resistance. Electric cars aside, their diverse model range comes highly recommended by our findings, with no less than ten Best Buy ratings awarded to the new cars we've tested."
