BMW is continuing to expand its all-electric offering with the introduction of a more economical, variant of its popular iX1 Sports Activity Vehicle.

The BMW iX1 eDrive20 has an increased fully-electric range and comes with a 204hp motor and can manage up to 296 miles on a full charge.

The new BMW iX1 eDrive20 will be available for delivery in the UK from the start of production in November 2023 priced from £44,560 for the Sport model while the xLine trim will be available from £46,5600 and M Sport from £49,310.

Alongside the BMW iX1 xDrive30 the latest model will be manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Regensburg.

The compact SAV accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 106 mph.

Recharging to full capacity can be done in 6.5 hours and an 80 per cent top up from a fast charger can in done in under half-an-hour.

The iX1 eDrive20 comes with BMW's new Curved Display which features a 10.25-inch information display and a 10.7-inch control display while navigation, automated parking and the new BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect" - which enables functions to be accessed directly without having to switch between various submenus - are all standard.
