CITOEN has updated the My Ami Pop diminutive electric car, with a new design that enhances its playful and sporty character.

The new My Ami Pop features a redesigned front end and reinforced bumpers, with a rear spoiler and new stickers on the quarter panels and doors, as well as a new ‘Infrared' colour scheme.

Features includenew headlamp surrounds, a black chevron strip under the windscreen, and a newly reinforced black bumper. The little car also has a new colour scheme with the introduction of ‘Infrared' as a predominant tone.

New graphics and colour accents create a fresher look that incorporates gaming-inspired geometric designs along with lively yellow and white accents on the stickers and wheel trims.

The pattern on the doors is reminiscent of Citroen's iconic chevrons, with circle motifs to echo the vehicles curved shapes and round headlights.

The yellow interior bag hook adds visual dynamism to the passenger compartment, which is warmed by the inviting orange hues of the three storage bins, the two opening straps, and the stitching on the floor mats.

Antoine Gaillot-Drevon, Citroen exterior designer, said: "With this new front end, we wanted to make new My Ami Pop striking and recognisable to everyone, even from 100 metres away. With its rear spoiler, My Ami Pop already boasts a distinctive sporty silhouette. By bringing in new colours and graphics, these styling attributes have reinforced Ami's energetic character, while echoing the responsive and dynamic driving that customers enjoy in electric mode. The graphic number two also demonstrates that. Two is Citroen Ami's favourite number: two passengers, two identical doors, two identical front and rear bumpers, two identical wings."

From the first quarter of 2024 the car's controls will include a drive mode selector on the centre console. That is on top of current features such as a smartphone clip, door nets, central separation net, floor mats, and the Dat@mi connectivity box - which allows the driver to link their smartphone to the car to access their range, mileage, and maintenance data.

The My Ami Pop's infotainment system features the My Ami Play interface, which turns a smartphone into a dashboard with quick access to navigation functions, music and radio, as well as enabling the driver to make phone calls.

The interface can be operated remotely using the Citroën Switch button on the steering wheel, so drivers can keep their eyes on the road.

The My Ami Pop is priced from £8,495 with deliveries due to start early in 2024.
