AN updated version of the Volkswagen T-Cross SUV has gone on sale in the UK priced from £23,965.

With a revamped design featuring new LED light clusters, more technology and a fresh style to the interior the new T-Cross line up tops out at £31,660 for R-Line models.

The central element inside the new T-Cross is a free-standing infotainment display. The standard touchscreen measures eight inches across the diagonal, while the top-of-the-range version has a 9.2-inch display.

The dash panel has also undergone a complete redesign with soft-upholstered surface materials - as in larger Volkswagen models.

The same applies to the front door trims of the Style which are priced from £27,620 and the R-Line versions which start from £28,555.

With a sliding rear seat that can be moved by 140mm luggage capacity ranges from 385 to 455 litres with a maximum of 1,281 litres available with the seats folded flat.

Towing capacity has also been increased allowing for up to three e-bikes to be carried.

Driver aids see VW's Travel Assist system fitted as standard which comes with adaptive cruise control, lane assistance and speed limit monitoring.

The range is powered by 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engines with either 95 or 115ps available or 1.5 TSI engines developing 150ps on mid and high grades.

Six speed manual and seven speed DSG transmissions across all trim levels.
