THE Renault Clio has been named Britain's best small car by one of the UK's leading motoring magazines.

The Autocar Awards recognise the best models available to UK drivers today and the new Clio's win in the small car class comes on top of victory in the same category of the 2024 UK Car of the Year Awards.

And there was further celebration for the French brand when Autocar presented its top motor industry accolade to Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, for his role in shaping an exciting new future for Renault and for the leadership he has displayed in the wider European automotive industry.

The magazine awarded De Meo its Issigonis Trophy, praising the executive for affirming the company's commitment to decarbonisation and revitalising its financial competitiveness, spearheading a major range expansion and, notably, leading the revival of the 5 supermini as an EV.
