A PAIR of new entry-level models are being added to Skoda's Enyaq electric SUV line-up as the Czech manufacturer simplifies its range of medium-sized, battery electric SUVs.

The new Enyaq 50 and Enyaq 50 Edition are fitted with a new 55kWh battery pack that delivers up to 234 and 232 miles of range respectively on the official WLTP-tested cycle. The rear-mounted electric motor generates 168bhp and 310Nm of torque and can accelerate the Enyaq from 0-62mph in just 9.1 seconds going on to a top speed of 99mph.

In terms of charging, both Enyaq 50 models can be charged to 80 per cent in around 25 minutes using a suitable DC rapid charger while a full charge on an 11kW AC connection will take around five and a half hours.

The new Enyaq 50 models replace the Enyaq 60 variants in the revised line-up and help bring the cost of switching to a new Enyaq ownership down by £2,000 with prices starting at £36,970. Both versions come generously equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation and plenty of safety and driver convenience features.

The Edition model, priced at £38,585, adds full LED Matrix beam headlights and LED rear lights, heated front seats and steering wheel, privacy glass, tri-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control and cooled wireless charging.

The simplified Enyaq line-up now also features the 85 Edition, the 85x Sportline Plus, the 85 L&K and the range-topping Enyaq vRS. All Enyaq 85 models are equipped with a larger, 82kWh battery pack.
