SKODA has unveiled the latest version of its range-topping, high performance Kodiaq SUV - and it comes with more power than ever before.

The second generation of the dynamic Kodiaq vRS gets the same power unit as the VW Golf GTi and that means a significant increase in power and performance with the latest version of the new 2.0 TSI petrol engine producing 261bhp - a 20bhp increase.

With a seven speed DSG transmission sending the power to all four wheels that means this latest version can despatch the benchmark 0-60mph sprint in a little over six seconds and go on to a 144mph maximum.

An upgraded braking system features red calipers and the latest version of the VW Group's Dynamic Chassis Control system is fitted offering 15 settings ranging from comfortable to sporty and continuously adjusts the dampers.

Driving Mode Select is also included as standard allowing a choice of Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual and Snow modes, each with corresponding electronic damper adjustment, and there's an Off-Road mode as well.

Exterior design features include a host of gloss black details including the grille frame, exterior mirror covers, the upper parts of the window frames, the roof rails and theentire D-pillar. The front bumper also features various parts finished inblack sitting below a black front grille which contains a horizontal light strip.

There's a choice of two interior design selections - Lounge and Suite - with the entry level Lounge version getting sports seats with integrated headrests upholstered in black microsuede/artificial leather with red contrast stitching.

Both front seats are electrically adjustable as standard and come with a memory function. Like most of the interior, the headliner is finished in black. The optional vRS Suite trim features leather sports seats.

Both versions have a three-spoke multifunction sports steering wheel, stainless-steel pedal covers, acoustic side windows and a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit plus a free-standing 13-inch infotainment screen.

UK prices will be released closer to the latest model's UK arrival which is expected to be in spring next year.
