KIA has revealed UK pricing and specifications for its new EV4 and Sportage SUV.

The new medium segment EV hatchback offers the longest driving range of any Kia EV produced to-date, up to 388 miles on a single charge.

The EV4 range starts from £34,695, with first customer deliveries due to start in the autumn while the facelifted Sportage will cost from £30,885 for petrol models and £34,425 for hybrid versions.

The Sportage line up will be bolstered by a PHEV model later in the year.

Kia has tailored the EV4 to European tastes, not just by developing a hatchback bodystyle for the region, but also developing it on European roads and conditions.

The EV4 will be built on Kia's production lines in Slovakia for local distribution, ensuring a more efficient customer delivery time. The EV4 will be joined by an EV4 Fastback version, further adding to customer choice and displaying the flexibility of the platform.

Following the example of the EV3, EV6 and EV9, Kia will offer a three-tier model walk-up to buyers in the UK: ‘Air', ‘GT-Line' and ‘GT-Line S'.

The EV4 ‘Air' is offered with a choice of 58.3kWh standard range or 81.4kWh long range battery packs, with the ability to travel up to 273 miles with the 58.3kWh version, or up to 388 miles on the larger 81.4kWh version.

The EV4 represents the first time one of the brand's EVs has offered a range of up to more than 380 miles on a single charge.

Stepping up to the sportier and more aggressive looking ‘GT-Line' variant, the EV4 is offered solely with the 81.4kWh long range battery pack, offering a range of 362 miles.

The top specification EV4 ‘GT-Line S' also comes with the long range battery pack, capable of the same 362-mile range as the ‘GT Line' variant.

Regardless of battery pack, the EV4 is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor applying 201bhp and 283Nm torque through the front wheels.

The EV4 is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds, on to a top speed of 105mph.

The EV4 is able to charge from 10-to-80 per cent in 29 minutes and 31 minutes for long range models when plugged into a 350kW DC fast charger, and in five hours and 20 minutes on an 11kW AC charger or seven hours and 15 minutes for models with the long range battery.

The Kia EV4 is equipped with a wide variety of the brand's latest technological advancements as standard. This includes Kia's new connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), integrated into the dual 12.3-inch display and infotainment screens which allows for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a range of on-demand features, and a smooth and refined user experience.

The EV4's displays also integrate an additional 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen, accompanied by physical rocker switches on the centre facia to control heating and ventilation.

‘GT-Line' models cost from £39,395 while ‘GT-Line S' specification starts from £43,895

At 4.43 metres long the Kia EV4 is the brand's first ever fully electric hatchback, and an important car bolstering Kia's presence in the family hatchback market, sitting alongside petrol-powered counterparts such as the XCeed.

Further information on the saloon-bodied EV4 Fastback, including pricing and specifications, will be revealed in due course.

Meanwhile, the new Sportage will be offered in a three-tier line-up of ‘Pure', ‘GT-Line' and ‘GT-Line S' vehicles with front and all-wheel drive available on all powertrains.

For the first time, all three powertrains - ICE, HEV and PHEV - will be available across every trim level in the Sportage line-up.

The Sportage first went on sale in the UK in 1995, and through five generations has proved itself to be a firm family favourite with UK motorists.

Over its 30-year lifespan, Kia has sold more than 450,000 Sportage vehicles in the UK and more than seven million globally.

The new Sportage integrates a new front bumper and stacked LED headlight design, and LED ‘Star Map' daytime running lights, replacing the boomerang-style DRLs of its predecessor.

The grille has been enlarged, reimagining Kia's tiger nose to bring the Sportage's appearance closer to other models in the brand's line-up, such as the EV3, EV6, Sorento and Picanto. At the side, the Sportage receives redesigned side protective panels and a new side cladding and trim beneath the doors.

Inside, the touchscreen now features Kia's new connected car Navigation Cockpit and new dual 12.3-inch screens with more squared-off corners than the units in the previous model. ‘Pure' and ‘GT-Line' models receive a 4.3-inch driver display.

The centre console, previously finished in glossy piano black plastic, has been swapped out for a brushed-effect finish, minimising the visual impact of dust and fingerprints.

The new Sportage also receives an updated two-spoke steering wheel design, similar to that of the EV3 and new EV6, with plenty of physical buttons and rolling switches.

The controls to adapt the drive modes and terrain modes on AWD models have also moved from the centre console to the steering wheel.

From launch, all three variants can be ordered with either a 1.6-litre T-GDi internal combustion engine (ICE), or as a 1.6-litre T-GDi Hybrid (HEV). The diesel variant is being dropped from the line up.

The Hybrid pairs a 1.49kWh battery pack with the combustion engine and the Sportage Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) will be offered later in 2025, offering maximum convenience and choice, particularly for company car users and fleet customers.

Equipped with the 1.6-litre petrol ICE powertrain, the Sportage is capable of producing 147bhp and 250Nm of torque. Like its predecessor, a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual clutch transmission are available, with the manual being offered exclusively on the ‘Pure' ICE variant.

Compared to its predecessor, the Sportage HEV features an increase in power, producing 235bhp and 280Nm of torque and all Sportage HEV models are equipped with an updated six-speed automatic transmission as standard.

There's also the option of front- or all-wheel drive while the ICE variant can only be ordered with FWD, the Sportage HEV is offered in AWD on ‘GT-Line S' specification.

The Sportage PHEV will also be available with a FWD powertrain for the first time, boosting efficiency and overall choice for customers, while reducing the entry price for the PHEV model.

The eight model range starts from £30,995 and tops out from £43,725 for an automatic hybrid model in ‘GT-Line S' grade.
