New Mercedes C63 AMG
on horizon
THE latest Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is getting a new look and is being made more fuel efficient.
The modified body design of the top-of-the-range C-Class model is complemented by numerous enhancements to its technology.
The introduction of the AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission with a "Controlled Efficiency" mode as standard along with a new power steering pump help to improve average fuel consumption by about 10 per cent to 23.5mpg.
The output of the AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine is unchanged at 457bhp but can be increased to a maximum of 487bhp with an optional AMG performance package.
Mercedes says the car's agility, grip and ride comfort have been improved and the AMG features a new generation of telematics including Internet access.
The new C63 AMG will go on sale in July. Pricing and UK specification are still to be confirmed.
