NEED a car that's big on the inside but small and easily manageable on the outside?
Then take a look at the Renault Kangoo, which is a great normal-sized family transporter.
It's derived from one of Renault's vans but, even though cheapest models are lower on kit, it doesn't feel like a van to drive.
Prices are reasonable even for the latest model built after 2009, and there seem to be quite a few around with low mileage.
All have power steering and a huge amount of interior space, with storage all around the cabin.
Petrol engines are all 88bhp 1.6 units and diesels are all 1.5-litres, with 68, 86 or 106bhp.
All are pretty slow, but then they are meant to appeal to people who are looking for great value and economy and that they certainly offer.
They are accomplished around town but not so good on long journeys.
Trim levels are Athentique, Extreme, Expression and Dynamique and all have column mounted audio controls, electric windows, remote locking and four airbags.
But there is no aircon or stability control in cheaper models and that's a bit stingy even in a cheap car these days.
