DOG owners are being offered a series of in-car gadgets and accessories with the launch of a new Pet Products range by Jaguar.

The equipment - which includes a spill-resistant water bowl and an access ramp - are designed for use on the company's SUVs, its XF Sportbrake estate car and the XE and XF saloons.

But with prices running to more than £1,000 for a system that features a quilted boot liner, a portable rinse system and a full-height luggage compartment partition as well as the ramp, the premium canine accessories are not cheap.

A rear seat cover for the saloons to protect from muddy paws comes to £248 when combined with the anti-spill bowl while a foldable pet carrier, rubber boot mat and the bowl costs £405.

Jaguar says its Pet Products have been ‘selected to meet the needs of customers and their canines' and the accessories have been designed with the comfort and well-being of each animal in mind.

The foldable access ramp is suitable for animals weighing up to 85 kilos and avoids owners having to lift their dogs into the car while the portable rinse system, which has an integrated hand pump for up to two minutes of operation, can also be used to clean equipment such as bikes or wetsuits.
