THE four-wheel trike is going electric with the arrival of a battery powered model developed by Swiss firm Qooder.

Due to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the eQooder will have a range of up to 95 miles and is the world's first zero emission vehicle with four tilting wheels.

It is due for release in the UK later in the year and will be priced from £14,774 to £17,310.

Recharging takes less than six hours from a domestic power supply and the quad bike has a 45kW motor delivering 100Nm of torque.

With hydraulic tilting suspension the machine has been developed in conjunction with Californian-based Zero Motorcycles which has specialised in electric motorbikes for more than 12 years.

The quad bike will join Qooder's new wave line up of scooters which feature a revolutionary suspension system and a double rear-wheel drive with mechanical differential and all-wheel braking system.

Qooder will begin selling its vehicles in the UK during 2020, priced at approximately £4,270 for the two-wheeled Oxygen and £10,200 for the flagship QOODER model.
