A NEW venture for professional drivers will go on display in September when Renault and Chinese company Jiangling Motors reveals the Mobilize Limo.

Aimed at taxi companies, private hire drivers and fleet operators the all-electric Limo will have its debut at the Munich IAA Mobility 2021 show in Germany on September 8.

A fleet of 40 Mobilize Limo is to be used to validate the services it will offer throughout Europe starting in the second half of 2022.

The car is slightly smaller than a BMW 5 Series and measures 4.67 metres in length and comes with distinctive features including flush door handles that pop out when the vehicle unlocks, LED headlamps with a sophisticated lighting signature and scrolling indicators.

With a 411 litre boot the Limo has a range of up to 280 miles and can be charged to give it 150 miles of use in around 40 minutes.

Top speed is limited to 87mph and the car has a 0 to 62mph acceleration time of 9.6 seconds. It also has a tight turning circle of 11.2 metres.

The car is to be offered via a subscription-based service for professional use and will be available as a joint offer combining both the vehicle and services for all sorts of drivers including taxis, PHVs, and other private transport services such as medical and community transport.

The services will also be available for other Renault Group electric vehicles.

Clotilde Delbos, chief executive of Mobilize, said:"The first Mobilize model, Limo, is the new brand's response to the evolution of the ride-hailing market. This offer, which combines a vehicle and flexible services, fully illustrates Mobilize's ability to the changing needs of vehicle users."

Mobilize is part of a joint venture created by the Renault Group and Jiangling Motors in 2018 to develop e-mobility services globally.
