VAUXHALL is releasing a special edition of the all-electric Corsa called the Yes which will be priced from £26,825 - some £5,550 below the current cheapest version making it the least expensive maintstream EV at the moment.

Based on the GS model, the Corsa Electric Yes Edition has a 136ps powertrain and is finished in a red paint job with black roof.

James Taylor, managing director of Vauxhall, said: "With the Corsa Electric Yes Edition, we are bringing our successful ‘Yes, of Corsa' campaign to the roads, offering an accessible new version of Corsa Electric with sporty GS styling.

"Vauxhall is committed to democratising access to electric vehicles, by offering an electric version of every car and van we offer by the end of this year and through initiatives like our Electric Streets of Britain campaign to improve the UK's on-street residential charging infrastructure."

In addition to the red finish the special will also be available in white, black and grey colours.

Yes Edition models also feature automatic lights and wipers, climate control, LED headlights and daytime running lights, high beam assist, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, electric front and rear windows as well an array of driver-assistance tech.

This includes lane departure warning with lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert, cruise control with speed limiter and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

There's also Vauxhall's multimedia infotainment system, which includes a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless smartphone integration, alongside a seven-inch digital instrument cluster and Vauxhall Connect.

It can cover up to 221 miles on a single charge and can be re-charged from 0-80 per cent in 30 minutes from a 100kW rapid charger.

The Corsa Electric Yes Edition will be sold exclusively only online with orders set to open from April 17.
